Healthy eating
A healthy diet will help you to feel good both physically and mentally. In order to maintain a healthy diet you should eat regular meals and try not to snack in between. If you do get hungry between meals, try to snack on cereal or bread, as these foods will satisfy you for longer than sugary alternatives.
You should also try and eat the recommended five portions of fruit or vegetables a day. Click here for more details, including what constitutes one portion.
Finally, you should try to limit your fat and sugar intake because in excess these foods can be harmful.

Eating on a budget
While you need to eat a healthy diet you will only have a small amount of money with which to buy your food and groceries. You need to spend this money wisely. The following tips might help:
- Shop and cook with a friend or group of friends as buying for one is more expensive
- Take advantage of special offers at the supermarket
- Try and avoid buying from local grocery stores as these are more expensive than supermarkets
- Buy supermarkets' value products
- Buy frozen vegetables as opposed to fresh ones as these are cheaper and will last much longer
- Buy your fruit from a market as prices here are lower
- Base meals around cheap starchy foods such as bread, pasta and potatoes
